Mobile 0413 056 773 Clinical Psychologist
My goal is for you to feel safe, respected and accepted as we explore your concerns in a gentle, non-judgemental way. The direction of therapy is determined by your goals. I do not believe that one therapy approach fits all so I draw creatively from a range of therapy modalities. The role of a good therapist is to get you to the point where you no longer need a good therapist.
I offer individual and relationship psychotherapy and counseling for adults and couples. I see people for short or long term therapy, depending on their needs. I also have a particular interest in treating anxiety disorders (e.g. obsessive compulsive disorder, post traumatic stress, phobias and worry).
ACT, CBT, EMDR, Inner Child, Meditation, Mindfulness, Schema Therapy, Solution Oriented
I draw from a range of orientations and try to integrate the best of the major therapy schools (cognitive behaviour therapy, psychodynamic and experiential) as well as EMDR, acceptance and commitment therapy, mindfulness meditation, and solution focused strategies, offering an approach that is tailored to your needs.
As a fully qualified and registered Clinical Psychologist, I adhere to the ethical and professional standards required by the Australian Psychological Society. To ensure that I can use the very latest techniques in helping you, I devote a substantial amount of time to professional development through seminars, workshops, conferences, reading and peer review groups.
I have been a registered psychologist for over 25 years. After completing my degree at the end of 1982, I worked full time as a Clinical Psychologist at Royal Brisbane Hospital for 4 years, and Princess Alexandra Hospital for the following 3 years. In 1990, I left the public system to start a private practice and a family. I treat adults with a broad range of backgrounds dealing with a wide variety of personal and relationship concerns.
