Seeing a registered practitioner is your guarantee of ethical conduct. Members of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) must uphold a code of ethics, and practice according to ethical guidelines.
Feel free to ask me for a copy of the APS code of conduct; or alternatively, ask your own therapist what ethical obligations they must uphold.

I have presented at international conferences and continue to undertake supervision and professional development.

As well as private practice, I currently work within Mental Health Services (DHHS, TAS) in the prison and community Forensic Mental Health Service team. My work involves clients with complex issues (not just mental health issues) and close interaction with other service providers, non-government organsations and clients' family and supports. Court reports and risk assessments are a large focus of my work.
Previously I worked at The Hobart Clinic, a private psychiatric hospital.
My orientation to treatment is primarily based in Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Rational-Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT) techniques.
CBT has a large evidence base for success in a number of clinical disorders, and is widely recognised as best-practice intervention for disorders including depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders.
