| Talking about the challenges being experienced is crucially important in allowing for change to begin to happen. However, often the most profound shift can be brought about by changing what we do and how we do it. Talking about our experiences and sharing our feelings is most beneficial when combined with practical steps towards living the lives we want. It is this change in 'doing' that enlivens us and allows for the emergence of fresh perspectives and insights. |
I engage in regular clinical supervision and participate in continuing professional development activities that ensure my skills are current in addressing both the emotional and physical health of the people I work with.
I have recently become an Accredited Occupational Therapist (AccOT) through the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists. |

I have over three and a half years experience working with people experiencing challenges to their mental and emotional wellbeing. In this time I have gained extensive experience working with both individuals and groups of people experiencing issues ranging from unexpected life transitions to psychosis and other major mental health issues.
I have developed an ability to allow therapeutic process to directed by the person and aim to honour the person as the expert in his/her own experience. |
I utilise various occupational therapy intervention techniques and practice from a person-centered, solution-focused perspective. I make use of narrative and metaphor in exploring experiences and setting goals for therapy.
