My practice embodies commitment to ongoing self- monitoring, self-awareness, professional development and supervision. Fundamental to this, is ongoing critical analysis in relation to interactions between myself and the client/s. I regard clients as the experts in their own lives and seek to assist them in recognising their own coping abilities and inherent strengths.

I have worked for a number of years as a counsellor/psychotherapist in organisations and private practice. I now practice privately and as a contractor to an International Employment Assistance (EAP) provider offering counselling and psychotherapy to employees under their workplace programs. I also work in the area of mental health policy, human rights and research for a NSW peak body. I have authored a number of papers and publications. Rather than using a single theoretical modality, my approach consists of a broad range of theoretical approaches, skills and modes of practice and consciously use the client / counsellor relationship to facilitate un-judgemental guidance and encouragement, to challenge and provide the inspiration to creatively manage and resolve practical, personal and relationship issues. This may include skill enhancement involving cognitive behavioural skills with the aim of empowering a client towards self-determination with an emphasis on their strengths.
