As a clinical professional I engage in ongoing professional development including conferences and seminars at local, national and international level, regular clinical supervision, and I believe firmly in the process of ongoing personal development. In addition to learning within the profession, I believe the breadth and depth of my expertise is also served by active participation in learning opportunities outside the health care professions.

In addition to more than 7 years clinical experience as a psychotherapist, I have been engaged in the facilitation of professional training for more than 10 years. For the 10 years prior to involvement in mental health, I was an active advocate and political lobbyist on issues of health, education, disability and youth, and successfully founded and co-ordinated an award winning youth drop-in facility. Analytic Therapy is largely a non-directive process of self-discovery and personal development occasioned by a special quality of relationship. The analytical therapies are concerned with the meaning of experience and behaviour. When we speak of meaning, we are pointing to an understanding of ourselves in our lives, in the world, that is essentially our own. As a developmental process, psychotherapy and counselling are tailored to suit each person in their own ways and according to their needs.
