  • Our initial conversations will enable me to gain a thorough understanding of your concerns and the situation; this is important as it will help us determine which strategies may be best to help you achieve positive change. We will discuss your options and we will work together toward your goals, whatever they may be. I will ask you for your thoughts as we progress, making sure that you are happy with the direction and progress of therapy.

    Integrative; what works for the client is the best orientation. Trained in the general frameworks of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Humanistic Counselling, Self Psychology, and Family Systems Therapy.
    Further specific training inc. Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy, Bereavement Counselling, Suicide Prevention, Working with Adolescents, complex trauma, Sexual Assault, and Child Sexual Abuse.

    Background

    Prior to becoming a psychologist in 2001 I worked in disabilities, youth work, and the corporate world. As a psychologist I have worked in a youth counselling service (Youth Outreach), managed a suicide prevention counselling service (Selah), managed the largest intern psychologist supervision program in Australia (ACAP), and worked in private practice since 2010.

    Appointments

    Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays early til late and every second Saturday.

    Please contact SAMSN regarding times for groups for men who were sexually abused as children.

    Transport and Parking

    Many buses run along Darling Street, past Rozelle Total Health and there is free on-street parking.

    Fees

    My aim is for people to pay what they can afford to pay consistently. Most pay between $0 and $70 per hour under Medicare. My standard fee is $220 and the rebate is around $125. The fee is reduced as required.
