I try to bring out the best in you. We will also look at the worst. Both need to be integrated. Our humanity and our spirituality is one. We will look at the physical things necessary to help you heal then the emotional and mental side of it. Together we will build the person you want to be. Then when you are ready you will be able to do it for yourself meaning you will not always need to rely on me. With education and caring the very best in you will come to the front in all areas of your life. If you are a manager leading a team I run seminars for you for whatever needs to be built in your staff to make them healthier, happier and way more productive. This reflects in their work, your office and of course in their personal lives.

    10 Questions with Jenetta Haim

    • What led you to choose psychotherapy or counselling as a profession?

    • I was always interested in helping people to succeed and progress. When I was a teenager a very wise person said to me that to teach people things properly you must have done them yourself. So I did a lot of study and courses and personal development to work on my own 'stuff' while getting some expertise under my belt. He was right. By knowing myself to some extent it gave me better insight to other people around me and how to help them.
    • Which philosophical approaches have influenced your professional/personal development?

    • I have studied many different philosophies and religions. Everything from Judaism to Christianity, Hinduism, Islaam, Buddhism etc. I have a Masters degree in stress management from the Eastern standpoint. I specialised in meditation and mindfulness from a traditional standpoint and am fluent in Sanskrit and the Gita and Upanisads. Couple this with my studies in Hypnotherapy, pharmacology and naturopathy and it made for an all round study of the human system. Many years of study since 17 years old and watching mum read Louise Hay.
    • Which particular aspects of health or the human journey are you interested in?

    • All of them. The energy, spiritual, mind, emotions, physical. We are a whole unit and not one thing can be divorced from another. I am an Advaita Vedantin also meaning that I believe all is connected in some way.
    • What method/s do you use?

    • Many from the different modalities I have learnt. Check out my website www.stressfreemanagement.com.au. There are too many to list here.
    • When do you think the client will start to feel that progress is being made?

    • Usually very quickly. Sometimes in days. I do give a guarantee of three months if you follow my advice but that's mostly to cover me as everyone is different. For most people they see results very quickly. Usually I see people once a month only to give them a chance to assimilate and digest new life patterns. Unless they are in crisis - then I see them sooner.
    • How has therapy made you a better person?

    • It's given me insight into myself. My good side and my bad. My patterns that I need to change and move on from, let go of and my baggage. We all have baggage as we are human and if anyone tells you they don't then they are in denial. There is no such thing as perfection in this imperfect world BUT we are all PERFECT as no two people are alike and we all have our own wonderful qualities that no one can do just quite the way YOU do it. And that makes every one of us special in some way. Usually we don't give ourselves enough credit for that.
    • What do you like most about being a therapist?

    • The light in someone's eyes when they have a new idea. A new brainwave or they understand something new for the first time. It's like they have been given a gift to help them in their lives and that is a gift of grace. It makes me feel like I did the job right. Not that I did it. I just pressed the right button in them, thank goodness. The button was in them all along :)
    • Do you ever have 'bad hair' days?

    • Yes. I don't like mornings. I never have been a morning person and my best work is afternoons to late evenings. That's when I write my blogs and do my updates - like this one :)
    • What do you think is the most significant problem we face, in the world today?

    • Isolation and loneliness. There are many popular people who deep in their heart are lonely. There is a difference between lonely and being alone. Sometimes we like to be alone and have our own space. That is not lonely. Lonely is the worst and no one should ever feel lonely. Even if they do they may not be aware that somewhere someone else cares about them. We need to all care more for each other and be kinder to each other. Life is too short.
    • Can you share the name of a book, film, song, event or work of art that inspires you?

    • Chinese Cinderella by Adeline Yen Mah is a great book. Her autobiography. The film Gandhi was a great film and a great man. Firework is a great song - lets all be a firework and empowered in our lives. Tony Robbins events are great and worth going to one. It will leave you inspired. I like surrealism as an art and impressionistic painters and aboriginal art. They all have a depth that touches me.
