I am a counsellor who believes that the therapeutic relationship is crucial to a successful outcome for the client, a belief supported by recent research that suggests that 40% of the effectiveness of therapy is due to client motivation, and 20% due to the therapeutic relationship; only 5% of therapeutic effectiveness has been found to be due to the type of therapy used.
I believe in the power of the client, and in their need to be heard and understood.

Sessions are strictly confidential and last for one hour. Number and frequency of sessions is up to the client alone.
My service is currently for women and children only. 		Because Holisticlife Counselling is ACA registered clients can be assured that it meets industry standards and that there is ongoing professional development and supervision.
Experience   Orientation  
My experiences as a teacher and as the mother of two children in their twenties have placed me in a position where I feel confident I can offer a strong empathic connection with both women and children. I was a volunteer telephone counsellor for over five years, and have also been counselling face to face for more than three years. My counselling style is strengths-based and I incorporate a range of strategies including Narrative, CBT, and Play therapy.
