Virtual Addiction
Virtual Addiction -
Help for Netheads Cyber Freaks and Those Who Love Them
by David Greenfield, Ph.D.

Description

Virtual Addiction is for those net browsers who spend hours and hours on the Web, in chat rooms, playing games, viewing. For some, their compulsive behaviour in cyberspace escalates to a stage where it wreaks havoc at work or school or leads them to neglect their real relationships.

Greenfield explains the nature of Internet addiction, with special attention to new forms of relationships that have appeared on the net. He lists twelve warning signs of internet abuse and suggests a variety of concrete steps that addicts can take to change their relationship with their computers.

About the Author

David Greenfield, Ph.D., is an expert on internet addiction and a psychologist and marriage and family therapist. He founded Psychological Health Associates, a private multidisciplinary behavioural health practice in Connecticut. He has conducted one of the largest and most comprehensive online surveys of Internet addiction in conjunction with ABC News.
