About the Author

Psychologist Susan Heitler has practiced for eighteen years as a clinical psychologist in Denver. Her widely respected publications --for families and therapy professionals-- have become classics in their fields. Dr. Heitler graduated from Harvard, earned her doctorate from NYU, and currently teaches as an adjunct professor at the University of Denver School of Professional Psychology.
