About the Author

Celia Lashlie was the first woman prison officer to work in a male prison in New Zealand, and went on to become manager of Christchurch Women′s Prison. She has a degree majoring in anthropology and Maori and works in a freelance capacity as a social issues and special education consultant. Celia lives in Wellington.
