| I work from a comfortable studio environment at Drysdale on the Bellarine Peninsula (15 mins from Geelong, 70 minutes from Melbourne central). The studio also accomodates the teaching of oriental ink brush painting, meditation, and classical guitar. It gives me immense pleasure to bring art, music, creativity and wellbeing together at this venue. |

| Lauren has experience working with adults and adolescents with complex mental health issues and in particular, with people who have enduring effects of depression, anxiety, personality disorders, sexual abuse trauma manifested as post traumatic stress disorder, and grief. |
My theoretical approach is an integrative one and draws on many influences and theories of psychology, art, anthropology and philosophy. It is primarily shaped by the participant's needs. I have often found phenomenological, (what do you see? what do you feel?) and narrative approaches to making and looking at art, to be gentle accessible starting points to building experience and trust in the art therapy process. |
