I have been a qualified social worker for 17 years and have worked extensively in many different areas. I have worked with young people, families, those will disability and terminal illness and in homelessness and substance misuse. I worked for the Police in South Australia as a counsellor for police officers, and more recently as a staff counsellor for NSW health. I am a trained couple and family therapist. I work from a person centred persepective. This means that I focus on your strengths and your challenges in a honest and collaborative way. I use a variety of approaches both Solution focussed and more existential and longer term. I am trained in Systemic Family Therapy, Rewind Technique for Trauma and Phobia and also use CBT and REBT. I'm not wedded to one approach or theory but to the approach that is appropriate for you the client in your current situation.
