You, as the client, can expect personalised, confidential attention in a calm, supportive and safe environment. You will be treated as we all like to be treated, with dignity and respect. I, as the counsellor, recognise you as the expert in your life and I am fully committed to using my training, experience and expertise in an ethical, professional and innovative manner. In order to maintain the highest professional standards, I have regular face to face supervision with a qualified, registered supervisor. I attend as many professionally relevant workshops, seminars and presentations as possible. I am also a member of three professional organisations (The Australian Counselling Association, the Queensland Association for Family Therapy, and the Federation of Psychotherapists and Counsellors of Queensland) and am registered with PACFA.

For nine years I worked as a volunteer telephone counsellor on a crisis line. After obtaining my Master of Counselling qualification I worked and still work as a face to face counsellor for a government funded counselling agency. At the same time I also operate my own private practice, Innovative Professional Counselling, which was established in 2005. I have worked with children, the youngest was 3, adolescents, young people and older ones, individuals, couples, families. Particular areas of expertise are men and anger, relationships, and parenting. My approach is client-centred first and foremost. With that as basis, I select from the techniques I was schooled in as well as additional techniques with which I have expanded my range of choices: in particular I use Solution Focused Counselling, Narrative Therapy, and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy; where appropriate I also use Neuro-Linguistic Programming and Hypnotherapy. I am accredited in both Triple P and Parenting with Love and Limits.
