Mr Allan Templeton

Relationship Therapist, Counsellor

Gold Key Professional Counselling P/L

My role as a professional therapist is to employ appropriate modalities that will assist my clients to explore different strategies for coping with the difficulties they are experiencing. By encouraging people/families to be proactive in regaining legitimate control over their own circumstances they are empowered as they learn to master skills that inspire them to "own" their recovery. These skills will help them to deal with possible future crises without necessarily requiring professional help

    Quality Provision

Unfortunately there is only one way to determine the quality of a service i.e. results! Your results. Accreditations do not make a good counsellor. However, study can hone the skills & increase the number & quality of tools in a therapist's kit-bag & make a good therapist better. I am constantly investigating and evaluating new techniques through reading & attending seminars & workshops. Of course, every client/therapist interaction should be a learning & growing experience for both parties.

    Background

Following years of part time counselling I left a successful business career to pursue my passion for helping people & counsel full time. By gaining a BA (Psych) at CQU in the top 15% I received membership in the Golden Key International Honour Soc. From labourer to Chairman of the Board I have observed a wide cross section of people. Natural empathy for hurting souls inspires me to help people/families to realise their full, psychological & emotional potential. Private practice since 2003.
